Who needs our custom clothes?
Our injured soldiers are unable to wear conventional clothing due to their injuries or the presence of medical devices attached to their bodies. These devices may include catheters, numerous stitches, VAC (vacuum-assisted closure) systems, external orthopedic devices, heavily cast body parts, and burn dressings, among others.
It is worth noting that they are often compelled to either remain unclothed or wear diapers during hospitalization, as they are unable to don regular underwear and pants.
In certain instances, it is entirely unfeasible to put on underwear over a leg; in others, it may be possible but necessitates assistance from another individual; and in yet other cases, it is either painful or exceedingly challenging.
This situation is described by them as degrading, leading to a loss of self-confidence.
I am delighted to announce that we have developed a solution to assist them.
Our approach involves providing them with specially designed underwear and pants that feature full-length side openings. We procure standard underwear, shirts, and pants, modify them by adding fabric and sewing on Velcro fasteners along the side.
These modifications are carried out by dedicated volunteers.
Since November 2023, we have been visiting multiple hospitals to deliver our custom-sewn products tailored to each soldier’s size and medical requirements. The impact of our products on injured soldiers is indescribable.
